A Spiritual Portrait

I have read the Greek version of the book, which I found greatly unique for its spiritual approach of the family. It shows that the Royal family lived a Christ-centered life and their love for God was the most important aspect of their lives. The book also offers previously unpublished texts (in English) from the last chapter of the family's life, the internment in Yekaterinburg, coming from testimonies by guards and the nuns of Novo-Tikhvin Monastery. There is also a significant reference on the events of Bloody Sunday, providing materials that are not so often presented in other Romanov biographies. As for the Orthodox faithful, they will be happy to read some very significant words spoken by other Orthodox saints who have testified to the sanctity of the Royal Family. Finally, I hope that the English version will include even more materials than the Greek one, which has indeed been a wonderful reading, written in a most vibrant style.

  • Hi, I was wondering: Is there a date yet, for when the book is to be released? Thanks.
  • I can hardly wait until this new book comes out in English! I have loved the Imperial Family since the day my aunt gave me Robert Massey's book, "Nicholas and Alexandra" when I was 12 years old and I have read just about everything I could get my hands on about them. I am now 64 and have been thrilled with Their canonization and the centennial celebration of Their martyrdom. My hope and prayer is that Russia will one day restore the Monarchy and atone for the horrible sin they have committed.
  • I cannot wait for the publication of this book. There is a huge thirst among many of us longing to read further about this much-loved and sainted family. This will be a timely and well-received book of great importance.
